Beyond controversy, ‘lifelong learning’ has become a key factor for the challenging human society in today’s rapidly ‘changing’ world. Schools are, or expected to be the principal environment to promote the experience for ‘lifelong learning’, as they undertake the major responsibility for raising the future young generations. As the consequence of this added value of the ‘schools’ role’, a vast number of changes are being introduced in ‘what’ we teach and ‘how’ we teach it. Thus, schools in fulfilling their responsibility for raising the competent young leaders of 21st century, feel an growing need to perform their act with continious progress. Teachers of course, being the head actors and actresses of this ‘school performance’ are at the heart of this learning-teaching process. With so many changes being introduced, they feel the need for inservice training more than ever to keep up their professional development. However, as ‘time’ is such a precious factor in our lives, teachers expect to meet their learning needs through the most effective and efficient ‘time friendly’ training programmes. This need and righteous expextation is the starting point for TeacherTrainingAcademy-Tr , an initiative for the learning society of educators in Turkey who feel the need and believe in the essence of ‘lifelong learning’.
